Set of 5 Vintage French Sugar-Frosted Gold-Rim Shot Glasses, c. 1950s–60s
A colourful set of five vintage French shot or cordial glasses dating to approximately the 1950s–60s.
Each glass combines a clear molded body with a distinctive sugar-frosted band of colour, finished with delicate gilt detailing and a gold rim. The set includes five different colours including turquoise, green, pink, yellow and white/clear, giving the group a playful mid-century palette while retaining the refinement of traditional cocktail glassware.
The lower clear portion is molded with deep vertical facets that terminate in a distinctive starburst-style base, creating additional texture and light refraction beneath the coloured decoration.
The sugar-frosted finish, sometimes described as granité, gives each coloured band a finely textured, crystalline appearance. Paired with the gold trim, it is characteristic of colourful European entertaining glassware produced during the postwar period.
Ideal for serving liqueurs, aperitifs, digestifs or small cocktails, the set also displays beautifully as vintage barware.
