Adjustable Sculptural Desk Lamp in Grey & Chrome, c. 2001

A sculptural adjustable desk lamp dating to the early 2000s, combining a soft grey finish with polished chrome and black detailing.

The lamp is built around an unusual exposed adjustment mechanism. Twin curved chrome supports rise from the weighted circular base to support the shade, while a slender vertical metal guide passes through the central chrome bracket. This allows the lamp head to be raised or lowered by sliding the assembly along the guide, creating a flexible task light with a distinctly architectural profile.

Its exposed structure, cool metallic palette and mechanically expressive construction are characteristic of the technical minimalist design language of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
