V. Nason Brown Faceted Murano Sommerso Vase, 9"

A substantial Murano glass vase by V. Nason & C., produced in Murano, Italy, circa the 1990s.

Standing 9 inches tall, the vase features a deeply saturated smoke-brown interior suspended within warm amber and clear glass. The form is heavily cut and polished into angular facets, creating dramatic shifts in colour, reflection and transparency as the piece is viewed from different angles.

The elongated silhouette is restrained yet highly sculptural. Dark internal glass forms a sweeping, almost teardrop-shaped core, while the clear outer walls catch and refract light along the sharply polished edges. In natural light, the amber tones become particularly pronounced, giving the vase a warm architectural presence.

The design draws on the geometric faceted sommerso tradition that became closely associated with Murano glass during the later 20th century, while the original V. Nason & C. - Murano Italy foil label identifies this example as a later production piece dating from approximately the 1990s.
