Vintage Murano Green Bolle Art Glass Bowl / Ashtray, c. 1960s
A substantial vintage Italian art glass bowl or ashtray in saturated emerald green, formed with thick clear glass and an extensive field of controlled bubbles throughout the body.
The piece has a particularly sculptural profile, with the heavy glass pulled and folded into a series of rounded, asymmetrical lobes around the perimeter. Clear casing accentuates the green interior and creates considerable depth, while the suspended bubbles become especially visible along the lower walls and base.
The combination of rich colour, controlled bubble decoration and heavily worked organic form is characteristic of mid-century Murano production. The piece shares characteristics with Archimede Seguso's bolle glass, although no signature or label is present and the maker remains unconfirmed.
Designed as an ashtray or small decorative bowl, it now works equally well as a standalone art-glass object.
